Kimberly Morse, Chile to Argentina January 2009 kimberlymorse@yahoo.com

Wanted to thank you for a wonderful trip! I´ve been riding all my life, my own horses, and other horses while travelling for sight-seeing, and I must tell you that your Chile to Argentina ride offered the best trail riding of my life! Your horses are truly amazing, willing and well mannered while your staff very obliging and it is clear in the details how committed you are all to a wonderful experience. I´m newly in love with the Chilean saddle. So much so, that I bought one today on my way out of town! I´m looking forward to coming back (maybe this fall?) for more riding, and perhaps to study Spanish. When I get home, I´m going to send you a photo of my Thoroughbred with his new chilean saddle! =) Thank you all again! Kimberly

Edward H. Williams  Crossing the Andes in December 2009 EWilliams@maierbrown.com

My brother and I took the “Crossing the Andes” trip in December 2009.  It was a fantastic experience in every way.  .... Antilco had carefully selected appropriate horses for our riding level based on the information we provided them before the trip. ...   They were spirited and fun to ride.  The trails were amazing and dramatic. Our Chilean guides (Aldo and Lena) were excellent.  Aldo knew the area like the back of his hand and told funny stories about his experiences.  ... We had wonderful campsites tucked away in the mountains, by gurgling creeks, by scenic lakes and in the highlands.  The food was great – ....   And the readily available Chilean and Argentinean wine was a very welcome surprise.  The second phase of the trip was with Hernan and Jose in Argentina.  ...   The contrast in the terrain was amazing.  Suddenly we were riding in wide-open spaces where you could see forever – with active volcanoes in the background.  Throughout the entire trip we did not see another tourist.  In fact, we didn’t see very many Chileans or Argentineans as we were in very remote areas.  We also learned (with some help) how to outfit our horses with both Chilean and Argentine saddles, bridles, and saddle bags.  .... It was the trip of a lifetime, and I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone who enjoys riding and wants to reach some of the most remote and beautiful places in the world.
... we loved the trip.  Thank you for making it possible.

The trick is to be in the right place at the right time - and I couldn't have timed my visit to Pucon in Chile any better. From a friend in Germany I knew that Antilco had to offer some pretty good riding, but they exceeded all my expectations. 2009 was the first year with a 12 day ride and a crossing of the Andes from Chile into Argentina on offer. There was only one week between rides and I decided to do them both. I have been asked, which one was the better ride. And the answer is simply that they were both amazing in their own right and can't be compared easily. I loved them both for different reasons and would do them all over again given a chance. Anybody who wants to experience all the highlights Antilco has to offer should try and do both.

Mathias,
Well we all have arrived home and settled into the grind. I know you would be missing our correspondence so I thought I should drop you a line. We all had a great time and enjoyed every minute of the adventure. We are glad we all did it and would not have changed a thing, all the events we incurred on our travel made it such a great and memorable trip.
Also if you get me the specs for Aldo glasses I will send him some funky replacements.
Keep in touch.
Yours truly,
Brad
