Trekking Huerquehue National Park
iis one of the highlights around Pucon, on a day's hike you can see all the native trees typical for the cold rain forest in our region. This hike leads to a part of the park we do not ride on our trailrides.

There's a public bus to the park entrance every morning from Pucon, coming back in the evening. the first part is quite steep up for about 1,5 hours than you reach a high plane (still some up and downs, but not steep).

Day hike, about 6 hours walking.

A 2 to 3 day hike leads to Camping Renahue (notice: its just a clearing with no facilities)and further on to the San Sebastian Hotsprings, coming back the same way.

reaching the highplane the path wind amongst some 500 year old trees, Coighue and Monkey Puzzle Trees (Araukaria), the oldest spezies of trees that exist in the world.

The Monkey Puzzle Tree ( Araukaria) is native to this part of Chile and grows only in a small part between Los Angeles and Osorno, mostly in the Andes, some in the cost mountain range.
