The Forest and Hot Spring Trail

An extension of the 4 and 6 day trail rides to Huerquehue National Park. We cross the Huife and Llancalil Mountain range to reach two gems of our region: Lake Geppinger and the Pangui hot Springs. Dense virgin forests, ridge paths with breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys and different hot springs hidden in the forest are waiting for us.

The Highlights: Rio Blanco Hot Springs, Lake Isolda, Lake Geppinger, the Llancalil Ridge, Pangui Hot Springs.

1st day: Pick up from Pucón, in the evening we take an initial ride to the mapuche community Quelhue. 3-4 hours on horseback.

2nd day: Riding through Renahue Valley to Rio Blanco hot springs.

3rd day riding up the Rio Blanco to a hidden mountain lake, Laguna Isolda, right in the rainforest and surrounded by ancient araucaria trees. We put up the camp near the lake.

4th day: riding down the Reigolil valley we reach the Rio Blanco hot springs in the afternoon.

5th day: We cross over to Huife valley where we camp at Laguna Geppinger, named by the German settlers that colonised this valley the second last century. this family’s grand children of are still living in this place and they will welcome us with a Chilean BBQ and homemade bread.

6th day: Through dense virgin rainforest we take our way to a ridge path that leads us to Laguna Alicia, and further on, valley down to the hidden hot springs of “Termas de Panqui” were we will spent our last night, relaxing our muscles in the hot pools, celebrating our horseback adventure with a big chilean BBQ "al Palo"(and some cool beers).

7th day:In the morning we have time for another bath in the hot springs before we ride to the pangui Lake. In the evening we drive back to the farm and Pucon.
